This one moment every year… when you see off the last customer, on the last day, 5 minutes before closing, wishing each other a Happy New Year, dropping a little gift 🎁 in the shopping bag – this is a moment I’m loving. And this moment got lost this year.
Instead, I rejoiced. I rejoiced about everyone coming in to take a time out. About everyone telling me coming to our store feels like a short vacation.
I was so happy when people asked us how they could support us during the long lockdowns. Happy about calls from strollers 🚶♀️🚶🏻♂️, just voicing their delight about the pretty shopwindows. Especially happy about the ones who knocked, who pointed, who nodded and then ordered :)
Of course we were thrilled about being hired for interior design projects 🛋, despite the closure. Our project clients trusted us so much, I was hugely flattered sometimes. ☺️
We have so many wholesellers who were out to support us as small store – by lowering their freight limits, for instance. 📦
I got vexed, too. Over wholesellers who were stubbornly insisting on their minimum purchasing limits. About the ones who quipped before the second lockdown: Let’s see if you guys will still be around next year. Or people who were hemming and hawing if buying a gift voucher would be a safe decision. 😤
But the Vorfreude for 2021 is front and center now. 🎉 There are soo many new and pretty pillows and vases and colors 🌈🎨, you can’t even imagine!I’m looking forward to see you again 🥰 and wish everyone to be able to hug each other again.
See you all in 2021! 🤞
Yours, Sibel
