Located idyllically in one of Stuttgart's more affluent quarters, this mansion is a typical five floor Gründerzeit building with a large, multi-layered and conveniently hidden garden. While all the upper floors are leased out, the current generation of the family inhabits the lavish, 200 m² ground floor apartment with two patios and the garden.
The apartment had been renovated ten years ago and exhibits the family's keen sense for subtly modern, open architecture and sometimes daring colors.
Being a very gregarious couple, the family invited Rikiki to provide some unique touches to the interior – starting with their yearly Advent cocktail, then expanding into various private celebrations, all of which were garnished with and many new permanent accessories.
A central part of the concept was distributing lots of pillow motifs and lighting in very different styles – accommodating existing room functions, existing furniture and color ambience. Just for the pillows alone, Rikiki brought four huge bundles full of them, allowing for a leisurely decorating session, inspired by champagne and fresh Italian cheese.
The joyful atmosphere this new interior styling created was rounded out nicely by the addition of unique pieces like custom-colored suitcase trunks for shoes or refurbished vintage Bauhaus lamps.
